Featured Quilt - Excellence in Longarm Quilting Overlay at 2022 Birmingham Festival of Quilts

Fractured Light by Lynda Jackson won The Excellence in Longarm Quilting Overlay Award at the 2022 Birmingham Festival of Quilts. Festival judge Sandie Lush had this to say about Lynda's quilt, "Brilliant use of colour and excellent piecing and quilting. I thought this quilt was a real gem." We couldn't agree more with Sandie, and you have to zoom in on the detail photos yourself to really get a sense of the excellent longarm work that went into making this quilt.

A New Collection of Art Is Coming To California

For more than 30 years, Richard “Cheech” Marin, the iconic comedian and actor, had established himself as a preeminent collector of Chicano art when he was approached by officials from the City of Riverside, CA, and the Riverside Art Museum about turning his massive collection into a museum. The Quilt Show Puzzle: Keep Your Mind Sharp with Quilts
"Feed Your Mind" by Katie Fowler

Feed Your Mind features a hand-drawn Mandala and hand stitching. There's also a reason that it is not a complete circle. The reason? The circle that Katie created didn't up being a perfect circle like she intended and wound up with a blob on one side. So what did she do? She lopped off the blob and centered the quilt around the good part of the circle.
