Weekend Fun - October 1, 2021
Featured Quilt - Houston 2021 Master Award For Traditional Artistry
We'll let Janet speak for herself on how she created this beauty. “This quilt was inspired by antique Wreath blocks. All quilting was free-motion quilted on a sit down machine with no rulers. Quarter inch channels were stuffed with yarn after quilting for a trapunto look. Hand-covered buttons and embellishments were added because who doesn’t love a little embellishing?”
We know it's October and time for Halloween, how about you get your treat early this month. That's right, it's time for the 2021 BOM Color My World Month 10 patterns. This month you'll be creating the Little Houses in the City. Can you imagine all the different embellishments you could add to each house? It'll be so much fun!
Fitting in the little houses can be a little tricky. Barbara Black has already done it and has tips and advice on how to make them fit and match in her latest LIVE. And, don't forget to watch Barbara's Month 10 video in the BOM classroom.
Barbara will be LIVETODAY, October 1, 2021 @ 10am PST, 1pm EST, and 6pm London time. All classes are recorded so they can be viewed later.
Dee is Off This Week
In the meantime, take a look at some of Dee's quilting basics classes.
Dee will be return to being LIVE October 9, 2021 @ 10am PST, 1pm EST, and 6pm London time. All classes are recorded so they can be viewed later.

Rulers with an Extra Half Inch - What Are They For and Why Do You Need Them?
For Squaring Up!
Squaring up your blocks makes it easier to assemble your quilt and gives you better end results. That extra half inch is your quarter inch seam allowance added in to make squaring up super easy! For example, if your quilt has 6 inch finished blocks, your squaring up ruler will be 6.5 inches. Go and pick out a ruler that will not only help you quilt, but make it easier too!
Radiance was created using Lisa's mock Cathedral Block technique that she developed to create simple, but outstanding, cathedral style blocks. And something you can't tell from just looking at the quilt? It weighs FIFTEEN pounds!
