Featured Quilt - Best Pictorial Quilt Innovative at PIQF 2021
Tulip Splendor by Kaye Iverson won Best Pictorial Quilt in the Innovative category at PIQF 2021. Kaye says about the creation of the quilt, "The inspiration for my art comes from nature and our travels. I reflected on past travels during the pandemic remembering our special trips. This quilt, "Tulip Splendor" was inspired by my photographs of our visit to Kuekenhoff Gardens in the Netherlands in 2019. Even though we still cannot travel freely, I can always travel through my art. I used silk confetti, tulle, hand dyed organza, batiks, and wool in the making of this quilt."
Lee Chappell Monroe considers herself a "modernitionalist" whose designs are a playful combination of traditional blocks with a modern twist. First, she shows Ricky how to expand your understanding of color (with a visual reminder) by making your own fabric color wheel. Then she shares with Alex, her "5 Tips Of The Trade" piecing tips for perfect flying geese, half-square triangles, partial seams, pressing, sashing and an easy ¼” guide on your thumb. Then, Lee continues her tips and tricks for creating an heirloom hand-stitched look using machine stitches.

Six Know-It-Alls - Fairs, Frakturs, Fylfots, & Favorites
Episode 9 Debuts November 10, 2021
In this episode, we have SEVEN Know-It-Alls. Seven?! YES! We have a very special guest: Alex Anderson of The Quilt Show! Fairs, Frakturs, Fylfots, & Favorites are all fair game and ALL the Know-It-Alls weigh in on these topics for another lively and informative conversation.
Want to make a great gift for that furry companion in your life? Erika Mulvenna at WeAllSew has an easy tutorial for you to help you make a Kennel Quilt for that dog, cat, or little fluff ball of yours' carrier or kennel. Time for them to be just as snuggled as you are with your quilts!
From Color ExpertJoen Wolfrom (Show 2101) comes the perfectly travel-sized mini color wheel. The Take-Along Mini Color Wheel is small enough to fit in your handbag. Bring it with you shopping to pick the perfect colors every time!
Fireflies is another of Cindy's most recent quilts, and continues her fascination with free hand curves. For this quilt, Cindy made both her curves and blocks individually, cutting the curves as if she was using paint.
Well maybe not paint exactly, unless you are adding some flourishes to your quilt. At The Quilt Show we want to promote the idea that you can do whatever you want with your quilt. If you want to paint it, paint it! If you want to add beading, add it! If you want to cut up your quilt and create an entirely new one, like Katie Fowler (Show 1807) did LIVE on our show, do that too (but maybe think about it a little first). The point is, quilting is supposed to be fun, and The Quilt Show is here to help you embrace and encourage every creative endeavor you want to try next!
