Featured Quilt - Antique Pineapple Perfection

The quilt that Sandra Pritchard entered into Houston was inspired by a photograph of a quilt in a museum. Knowing there would be no pattern available to make a quilt like it, she drafted her own. Sandra named it Antique Pineapple, sometimes called pomegranate, and used the popular 1840s colors of cheddar and green to bring it to life. The results are absolutely exquisite and we made sure to get lots of closeups of the quilting for you to use as your own inspiration.

The quilt was on display as part of the Appliqué exhibit sponsored by The Quilt Show at the Houston International Quilt Festival 2023.

Love the Costumes in "The Gilded Age"?

Learn About the Man, Charles Frederick Worth, Who Inspired Their Design

Charles Frederick Worth was an English fashion designer who founded the House of Worth, being one of the foremost fashion houses of the 19th and early 20th centuries. Considered by many fashion historians to be the father of haute couture, he first used models to "sell" his clothes and added labels to his work. If you were a Gilded Age lady of high society, you would certainly have one of his designs.
