Featured Quilt - The Janome Master Award For Innovative Artistry at Houston 2023
Those Darn Boys by Judy Crotts won The Janome Master Award For Innovative Artistry at the 2023 Houston International Quilt Festival. Judy had this to say about the subjects of her quilt and the work she put into it, "Watch out boys; there's a powerful girl in the house! Besides working with the children's delightful faces in many different colors and fabrics, I experimented with using a single fabric in their clothing. I cut the fabric and rearranged it to give the effect of movement. The use of tulle for shading completed the overall effect."

"Spool Dash" by Peter Byrne
When Benartex Fabric reached out to Peter and asked him to redesign the traditional spool block in a Modern style for their e-magazine, Modern By The Yard, he just couldn't pass up the opportunity. He sent them his design, which they loved, and they sent him the fabric back to make the quilt, which became Spool Dash. Once finished, the quilt placed Second at Quilt Canada 2023 in the Modern category and a Judge's Choice ribbon at QuiltCon 2023.
