Featured Quilt - Third Place Innovative at PIQF 2021
For something to be innovative, it doesn't necessarily have to be out of the ordinary. It can be creative in a way that you haven't seen before, like the picturesque scene Ann Horton (Show 2005) created here. Her quilt, Woodland Wilds, won Third Place in the Innovative category at PIQF 2021 and depicts a beautiful view of natural framed by a tree-like border. Ann says, "My daily hiking trail includes many wild creatures and flowers. Thread painting, embroidery, decorative stitches and free motion quilting bring them to life. I live in the northern California oak woodland hills and hiking is my norm!"
As an early Christmas present, or late Halloween treat, we are opening up the last two patterns, Months 11 and 12, of the 2021 BOM Color My World for you to enjoy! Using these two patterns, you will make four skyscrapers of Big Ben, One World Trade Center, the Eiffel Tower, and Centrepoint Tower to surround your world. Then with some finishing touches, and maybe some help from Barbara Black's videos, your 2021 BOM will be complete and ready to share with the rest of the world!
In our latest show, Cindy Grisdela shares tips for building puzzle quilts using colorful fabric scraps to make different size blocks that will easily fit together like a puzzle. It's a fun and easy technique that you can use over and over again to create new and interesting quilts for years to come!
Do you dream of being the best Memory Matcher out there? Well there's only one way to do it, and that's to play Jinny Beyer's Memory Match until you match everything correctly the first time!
Shelley wanted to pull all the colors out of her stash for this amazing scrap quilt. While the colors are beautiful, it's the precision piecing that leads the way in Appleyard Lane.
