Featured Quilt - Coats & Clark Best Wall Hand Workmanship Award at Paducah 2023
What is Christine Wickert's quilt Ruby? Is it a red and white quilt? Is it a nature-inspired quilt? Is it a traditional quilt? If you guessed all of the above then you would be correct, because Ruby is certainly all of those things and more. Winning the Coats & Clark Best Wall Hand Workmanship Award at AQS QuiltWeek Paducah 2023 and an Honorable
Mention in the Wall Quilts - Appliquéd Quilts category at AQS QuiltWeek Branson 2023, Christine's quilt was designed using Deborah Kimball's book, Floral Abundance Quilt: 9 Blocks Plus Borders, Bonus Pillow Instructions.

The Quilt Show Puzzle: An Apple A Day...

"Apple Core" by Cynthia England
Apple Core got its start from
the fabric used in the big sashing areas in the quilt. When she makes a traditional quilt, Cynthia usually finds a focus fabric and pulls fabrics to go with it. In the case of Apple Core, it was that initial sashing fabric that drew Cynthia into making the quilt. The center blocks where the sashing all comes together are 6" finished blocks that, when making the quilt yourself, are interchangeable. The quilting was done by Denise Green from League City, Texas.
