This is evident with Kyra Reps' quilt, Cabin Fever, which won Best Longarm Machine Workmanship - Wall Quilt at the 2021 Virtual Spring Quilt Festival.

Kyra says, "My Cabin Fever is a whole cloth quilt representing winter in Iowa. It has 6 different thread colors to represent a snowflake in the center radiating outward.

The edge treatment has three different colored, hand-wrapped cording. Creating this snowflake mandala kept my spirits high while we battled winter and solitude."

"Callaloo" by Latifah Saafir

Latifah's Callaloo quilt got its name from a Caribbean stew-like dish of the same name. It is made with Callaloo greens and a variety of seafood, sometimes including clams, of course. Like this quilt, though, each pot of Callaloo can be as varied as the maker that creates it, which is what Latifah did in this case.
