Featured Quilt - Hexies Everywhere You Look

We started to count the number of hexagons in this quilt, and then we gave up and decided to just enjoy its beauty. Kado, by Carmen Maria Cambronero of Canabria, Spain, is a lovely hexagon quilt that was on exhibit in the Small Wall Quilts - Stationary Machine Quilted category at AQS QuiltWeek Paducah 2024. Carmen's quilt consists of innumerable hexies all created using English Paper Piecing and hand piecing. Don't bother counting, just take a look.

Machine Quilt Prep for Success with Christa Watson

Be Prepared for Any Machine Quilting Situation

Christa Watson stresses that if you want success with your machine quilting, it is important to do the prep work beforehand. In our newest show, she shares her techniques for pressing seams flat and basting to ensure all three layers adhere to each other and won’t pucker or shift. Then she shows options for planning quilting designs on paper.

Learn from Christa by watching her in Learn How to Plan and Do Domestic Machine Quilting with Christa Watson | Half-Square Triangle Borders with Alex Anderson.

The Quilt Show Puzzle: A Storm of Hand Dyed Fabrics

"Tempest" by Kevin Womack

Kevin Womack's Tempest features his own hand dyed fabrics and was made to show off the fabric just as much as his quilting skill, that's why the pieces are so large.
