The Crossing by Linda Roy is a stunning work of appliqué that is a multiple award-winner. Most recently taking home First Place in the Hand Quilted Quilts category (Sponsored by Arrow Sewing) at AQS Quiltweek 2022, it has also won Best Traditional Design Award at AQS QuiltWeek® – Daytona Beach, Florida 2020 and Best in Show Large Quilt Smoky Mountain Quilters of Tennessee 2019. It is an original design inspired by an antique Pomegranate quilt. The addition of embroidery, stippling, and "upside down" stuffed yo-yos make this quilt a true stunner.

Panning for Gold by Lea McComas won First Place Art-People, Portraits, and Figures at IQA Houston 2014. Lea says the quilt was inspired by a historical photograph of a gold miner working the river. It is made with fused edge appliqué and thread painting.
