Featured Quilt - Enjoy The Ride

Joyride by Simone Steuxner won First Place in the Large Quilts: Stationary Machine Quilted category sponsored by Husqvarna Viking at AQS Quiltweek 2022 in Paducah. When it came to inspiration for the quilt, Simone said, "Life is not always a joyride, but making this quilt was one. I was inspired by nature and my garden life."
Make A Fun Fox Key Holder with Olesya Lebedenko
Get In On The Foxy Fun

The fun continues in our latest show as Ricky joins Olesya Lebedenko as she shares how to make a small key holder featuring Mr. Fox’s head. If you like this fox key holder that Olesya made, then you should check out her fox quilt too, Cunning as a Fox, which was featured as a puzzle in yesterday's newsletter.

Barbara Black's Students Shine

We are almost halfway through the year, which means people are almost halfway down with the 2022 Block Of the Month, Garden Party Down Under. Barbara Black has posted some in-progress photos of some of her students' work on the BOM and they are just wonderful. And guess what? It's never too late for you to start your own 2022 BOM if you haven't yet because you still have half a year to go!
In The Store - Quilter's Magic Wand
Abracadabra, There They Are

The Quilter's Magic Wand is a handy little tool that makes marking quarter-inch seam lines on half-square triangles super easy. Just align the tool's central line on the corners of your fabric square and draw along each side, and voila, perfect quarter-inch seam lines. It also works great for adding quarter or half-inch seam allowance to any straight lines or for marking straight lines for quilting.

The Quilt Show Puzzle: We Are Family
"My Family" by Lynette Anderson

Featuring redwork, hand embroidery, with English paper pieced triangle borders, My Family was made by Lynette as a way to celebrate her, and everyone else's, family. Using the tree as the central motif, as Lynette does in many of her quilts, it depicts a family happily gathered underneath it. However, since this is a quilt that can be made to celebrate everyone's families, the people are not present underneath the tree in the pattern. Instead, the maker can choose to put their own family, their children's or grandchildren's drawings, or whatever else they would like that represents their brood.
