Featured Quilt - Looks Like Lace

Challenge by Sylwia Ignatowska of Podkarpacie, Poland won Third Place - Wall Quilts: Movable Machine (sponsored by Juki America, Inc.) at AQS QuiltWeek Paducah 2024 and it's not hard to see why. This fabulous medallion quilt looks like it's made of lace, an effect created by thousands of different styles and types of machine quilting stitches. And, at first, we thought Sylwia had used buttons as part of her design, but it turns out it is just extremely dense quilting in a contrasting color.  We have lots of close ups of this one. Take a look.

The Quilt Show Puzzle: Making The Point with Family

"Kora" by Carol Morrissey

If Carol Morrissey featured one grandchild in one of her quilts, you knew she was going to feature the others. In Kora, Carol presents another magnificent quilt in her Exaggerated Pointillism style, this time featuring her granddaughter. While Pointillism in the art world features dots of the same size and pure color, in Carol's style she utilizes different sized circles and whatever colors blend best to bring out the work's image.

See more of Carol's quilts in Learn About Pointillism (Circles On Quilts) with Carol Morrissey | A Better World Exhibit.
