Featured Quilt - Second Place Wall Quilts: Stationary Machine Quilted at Paducah 2023
Typhoon by Janneke de Vries-Bodzinga won Second Place Wall Quilts: Stationary Machine Quilted (Sponsored by Baby Lock USA presented by Calico Country Sew & Vac) at AQS QuiltWeek Paducah 2023. You most likely saw this amazing quilt when we featured it back in September 2022 when it won the Excellence in Machine Quilting award at the 2022 Birmingham Festival of Quilts. It's not hard to see why this quilt has been scooping up the machine quilting awards lately, as the quilting brings out so much detail from the eye of the storm, the ship, and the monstrous Kraken emerging from the ocean's depths.

The Quilt Show Puzzle: Hand-Dyed & Made with Love
"I Will Love You Forever And Ever" by Patricia Belyea
I Will Love You
Forever And Ever prominently features, and it may not be easy to tell at first glance, hand-dyed Yukata cotton fabric. And the reason it may be difficult to tell is that this is not your traditional hand-dyed fabric. Each part of the fabric is dyed, the flowers, the lines, everything. It is done using a very involved Japanese stencil technique called chusen dyeing. Thus, each fabric used in Patricia's quilt here is its own hand-dyed pattern.
