Featured Quilt - Best Hand Workmanship at 2023 AQS QuiltWeek in
Paducah
Handwork is Sachiko Chiba's lucky charm as she has taken home another top award for her beautiful stitches. Her quilt, Harmony, won Best Hand Workmanship Award at 2023 AQS QuiltWeek in Paducah. Just a few months ago, this multi award-winning quilt also received Best Hand Quilting at Road to California 2023.
With a gorgeous floral design, Sachiko says she "wanted to quilt beautiful blooming roses. These are loved by all. That is why I wanted to express their elegant and gorgeous appearance."

What Have You Learned From The Made Color Scientist?
Everyone just loves Scott Hansen, and it's not hard to
see why. This colorful quilter has brought his brand of Modern quilting to The Quilt and our members can't get enough of it. Here's what they have to say:
"Terrific show, so many ideas going through my brain right now! Will order his patterns as well! Thank you!!" - Robyn S.
"I had signed up as a member on a whim and landed on this segment. Wow! I am sure glad I did! I am so color and exact phobic that I think I may have jumped a hurdle in my quilting life! I love the explosion of colors that these quilts help my brain to finally understand. No quilt police here!" - ConnieSue T.

"Playing Hookie" by Lisa Calle
Playing Hookie is from the
beginning of Lisa's quilting career when she was quilting for customers. Its name comes from the time she took to play hooky from those quilts and quilt her own. The top was made in a piecing class where she was learning about quarter-inch seams. The quilt also won Lisa her first award in 2006, and she has gone on to make many award-winning quilts since.
