A Temperature Quilt, Ellen Lindner's "Fantastic" Show, Easter Bunny Mini Quilt, QSOS with Pat Sloan, Kits Still Available For Alex's New Class, A Puzzle Full of "Waves"

Welcome to Wednesday - March 30, 2022
Featured Quilt - 2020 Temperature Quilt, Denver, CO

Quiltcon 2022 had an exhibition of Temperature Quilts. We wanted to find out what they were so we took a look at the Modern Quilt Guild's definition.

"A temperature quilt essentially represents the high and low temperature of each day for a given period of time. Quite often it's for a year, or perhaps 6 months, and the maker has to choose a way of recording, designing, and representing the temperatures through color and patchwork."

Then we took a look at 2020 Temperature Quilt, Denver, CO, which was created by scientist and quilter, Sarah Schreiner, who loved the idea of representing data on a quilt. We love how Sarah depicted the highs and lows through her radial design.

The Quilt Show Puzzle: Catch A Wave
"Wave on Wave" by Judy Martin

This quilt, Wave on Wave, is a Lone Star beauty from Judy Martin (which you can find in her book Singular Stars). We love that it is strip pieced and yet displays a "wavelike" appearance.
