"Room 2913" by Cathy Perlmutter
Room 2913 is the first quilt Cathy made after a long trip to New York where she was looking at the buildings like an artist rather than as a resident or a tourist. Cathy learned a lot for making this quilt, including one thing she did that might have been a mistake but might have ended up working out for her, which was making the buildings really big. On the one hand she used all of her finest fabrics in creating it, but the result of that is when people go up to see it they just say "woah" and are impressed by its grandeur (72" x 93"). It provides an experience similar to walking out of the subway in New York City and looking up to see the gigantic buildings towering over them, something that Cathy just loves
when seeing the quilt.
