Featured Quilt - First Place in the Appliqué at QuiltCon 2023
Fazed by Scott Murkin won First Place in the Appliqué category at QuiltCon 2023. He had this to say about what inspired him to create his stunningly beautiful appliquéd quilt. "A grayscale thumbnail inspired this design, which was completed in one of my all-time favorite palettes. The background is a single piece of fabric intended as a wide quilt back."
In our brand new show, Cristina Arcenegui
Bono shows her technique for adding whimsical motifs to a teapot design sample. By using a high-loft batting and outlining the teapot, it both defines areas and creates the desired trapunto effect. Then the fun begins as she fills in the spaces with imaginary trees, flowers and other charming elements. Plus, she adds more interest to her work by hand coloring in the designs with markers.

Down the Garden Path is a visually stunning quilt that makes us think of Spring. She says, "I wanted to stretch the boundaries of the typical stuffed and heavy quilt by using repurposed sheer materials. They are layered in such a way that their colors combine as the light shines through them. The stitching is held to a minimum to enhance the natural textures of the materials."
