Featured Quilt - A Variation On A Classic
Here is the second Judge's Choice recipient from the 2021 Virtual Spring Quilt Festival. Awarded by TQS favorite Sue Nickels (Show 1808), Richland Oaks by Mel Dugosh is Mel's interpretation on a quilting classic. Mel says of her inspiration for the piece, "My life in circles - a metro hoop variation of a traditional Civil War Bride Classic." And really, you can't go wrong with a classic, especially one like this with exquisite hand appliqué.

The Poppy Quilt was the first quilt that Heidi made on her Innova. Knowing that it would take more time to make, and not wanting to leave the quilt pinned to a rented machine for so long, Heidi took the plunge and got her Innova with the express purpose of making this quilt. Take a look at all the teeny, tiny little circles in the background, and the work in the flower itself, because it also Heidi's first appliqué quilt.
