Featured Quilt - 2nd Prize Contemporary Quilts at The Festival of Quilts Birmingham 2022
Whirling Dahlias by Colleen Butler won 2nd Prize Contemporary Quilts (Sponsored by Janome) at The Festival of Quilts Birmingham 2022. Colleen says about the inspiration for her work, "This happy quilt started with a Dahlia UFO that I made at least 8 years ago to which I added Prairie Points in circles. I learnt this technique in a short class a few years ago with Rachael Daisy. The quilt just evolved from there, each step requiring thought as to how I could put it together." About the making of the quilt, she also said, "My quilt contains some regular piecing, appliqué, binding strips, prairie points, suffolk puffs and buttons."
Want to learn from Rachaeldaisy just like Colleen did? Well, you can do that right here at The Quilt show by watching

The Quilt Show Puzzle: Overlooking a Beautiful Bay

"Orca Bay" by Bonnie K. Hunter
Every year on Bonnie's blog she runs a reader
appreciation mystery, which is a quilt. The readers get their yardage requirements and colors in October and then in November, the day after Thanksgiving, she releases the first clue to the mystery. Her Orca Bay quilt was one of the blog's previous mysteries. It was inspired by a photograph she took over Orca Bay in Prince William Sound while teaching up in Cordova, Alaska.
