Featured Quilt - Two Primary Colors, One Amazing Quilt

Midnight in Morocco by Marilyn Badger won Second Place - Wall Quilts: Movable Machine Quilted (Sponsored by Juki America, Inc.) at AQS Quiltweek 2022 in Paducah. This is the third prominent award that Marilyn's quilt has garnered, also taking home Best of Show at PIQF 2020 and First Place - Mixed Large at Road to California 2022.

Marilyn says, "An original Claudia Clark Myers design, this quilt was such fun to make because of all the different techniques involved. Embellishing was even more fun with hundreds of little crocheted and beaded circles added, as well as beads, crystals and hand embroidery. The dimensional edge was the finishing touch." Featuring copious up close-ups, you'll by staring at Marilyn and Claudia's work for hours on end in amazement.

The Quilt Show Puzzle: Pick The Color You Want
"Swatches" by Heather Black

Swatches is a more low-volume design quilt for Heather. For her, she wanted the interest point to be the quilting around the pink paint watches (the oval shapes), by adding a whole lot of layer and depth. The quilt was actually the inspiration for Heather's fabric line, Sketchbook, because she had the circles around the swatches representing that kind of sketchbook feel with the outline of the quilting.
