Featured Quilt - Honorable Mention Large Quilts: Movable Machine Quilted at Paducah 2023
With Summer just around the corner, we wanted to sneak in one more burst of Spring and revel in its natural beauty. Enter Spring Flowers by Sherry Durbin, which took home an Honorable Mention in the Large Quilts: Movable Machine Quilted category (Sponsored by ABM International) at AQS QuiltWeek Paducah 2023. This vibrant violet quilt is filled with flowers all around its border, a beaming bird in the center, and
decorative designs throughout. It's all you could ask for in a Springtime quilt. Oh, and did we mention that it's based on a Becky Goldsmith and Linda Jenkins design from their book, Aunt Millie's Garden: 12 Flowering Blocks from Piece O'Cake Designs?

Making Bubbles with Rachaeldaisy

Blowing Bubbles A Different Way (More Needles and Less Soap)
Rachaeldaisy loves making bubbles (her fun name for circles) for stash busting and exploring the variety of ways she can mix both machine stitching with handwork. She begins her demo by showing Ricky a stitch and turn method for circle making that adds more thickness while preventing shadowing. She then shares fun ways to feature her bubbles with other elements, bubbles as the only element, and bubbles as a border.

"Blue Heron" by Jamie Wallen
You aren't going to believe this, but Jamie's quilt,
Blue Heron, is actually a shower curtain that a friend sent to him to have quilted. Yes, a shower curtain... See for yourself the amazing work that Jamie put into this household item to turn it into a work of art, and see if you can spot the shower curtain holes that he left just in case his friend ever wanted to use it again (which we really hope they don't).
See more of Jamie's quilts in How to Do Block and Border Design with Jamie Wallen.
