Featured Quilt - Second Place Wall Quilts: Movable Machine Quilted at AQS QuiltWeek Paducah 2024
This quilt certainly makes a colorful "splash" when you see it for the first time. Color Splash Garden by Karen Kay Buckley won Second Place - Wall Quilts: Movable Machine Quilted (Sponsored by Juki America, Inc.) at AQS QuiltWeek Paducah 2024. Filled to the brim with a dazzling array of colorful fabrics, Karen's quilt gets its name from the creative design choices she made. Surrounded by a rainbow leaf border, the fabric then becomes black, but Karen has quilted the roots and flowers of her garden with white thread which grow into the collective of crazy colorful plants in the center. Karen's quilt also took home First Place - Innovative at Pacific International Quilt
Festival 2023.

"Crescendo" by Betty Busby
Betty loves fungi, and if you look at the underside of fungi and see the ribs radiating out of the gills, that is where the basis for the design of Crescendo came from. And if you start to look at different micrological pictures you'll see that they come in all kinds of colors and shapes like the ones on Betty's quilt. It has couched cording to represent the radiating ribs and hand beading for the spores.
