Featured Quilt - Meditative, Beautiful Hand Stitching

The diligence and patience it takes to do quilt work by hand can be frustrating for some, but the reward of the final product is always worth it. Boutis Soyeaux by Christine Wickert won Best Hand Workmanship - Wall Quilt at the 2021 Virtual Spring Quilt Festival. Christine describes her creative process as such, "This is the second silk boutis I made from Christine Vignal's pattern in her book entitled "Traditional Boutis." The hand stitching and stuffing might be tedious for some, but is meditative for me."

Thread Your Way to Great Designs

How you set up the design you are going to quilt can sometimes be a challenge. What is the design? What thread are you going to use? The second question is oftentimes the more important one. The thread is your ally, not your enemy, and you need to work together to get the job done. Lori Kennedy at WeAllSew is here to show you how to properly design with thread.
