Featured Quilt - Honorable Mention Wall Quilts: Stationary Machine Quilted at Paducah 2024
Daisy Dots by Lynne Taylor received an Honorable Mention in Wall Quilts: Stationary Machine Quilted (Sponsored by Baby Lock USA presented by Calico Country Sew & Vac) at AQS QuiltWeek Paducah 2024. Lynne's quilt was also on display last year as part of the Houston International Quilt Festival.
Lynne says of her work, "An original design, this quilt was inspired by the Michael Miller pink daisy border fabric that was designed by Patty Young. I chose a traditional medallion quilt setting with overlapping sections for interest and depth and added modern embellishments, which included stamping and hand-painted dots and flowers, to create a more modern perspective." |

In Memoriam - Ruth McDowell |

The Quilt Show is sad to report the passing of Quilters Hall of Fame member Ruth B. McDowell. Ruth passed on June 23rd, 2024 following a brief illness. Ruth was "a pioneer and visionary in the contemporary art quilt movement and lifelong appreciator of the natural world." Her loss is deeply felt throughout the quilting community and The Quilt Show sends its condolences to the McDowell family. |
