Featured Quilt - Best of Show at PIQF 2024
During last week's Pacific International Quilt Festival 2024, Marilyn Badger, who is no stranger to award-winning quilts, took home the coveted Yuko Watanabe Best of Show Award for the next entry in her doily quilt series, Royal Treasure.
And what a "treasure" it is, featuring a "treasure" trove (okay we'll stop) of amazing techniques brought to life by Marilyn's hand, including machine piecing, machine appliqué, and Longarm machine quilting. She says it is, "Another in my series of doily quilts using hand dyed vintage doilies by Wendy Richardson and fabrics by Paula Nadelstern and Cherrywood." |

TAP Into Your Next Big Quilt Project
In our current show, Lesley Riley shares a photo memory quilt from 2004 as an example of the advantages and disadvantages of early photo transfers products that were available at the time. In 2008 Lesley developed TAP (Transfer Artist Paper) which offers crisp and colorfast images that can be printed on fabrics of all types, in addition to wood, paper, and glass. Watch her demonstrate how to use TAP, and then see some embellishment ideas to enhance an image with special effects.
