Featured Quilt - Around The World In One Day?

24 Hours by Yoko Izumi won First Place - Large Quilts: 1st Entry in an AQS Paducah Quilt Contest (Sponsored by Gammill®) at AQS Quiltweek 2022 in Paducah. Depicting a voyage around the world, and surrounded by what we believe are the gears of a clock, Yoko's title could have multiple meanings. We like to think it represents a day in the life, a whole twenty-four hours, but can mean so much more in someone else's eye. Take a look and see what the quilt means to you. Regardless of your interpretation, we can all agree that it is simply a stunning work of imagination and creativity.

The Quilt Show Puzzle: A "Trek" Through Modern Quilting
"Urban Trek" by Heather Black

Heather loves to design for design's sake. When she sat down to make Urban Trek she started to play with curves and stripes, aspects of Modern Quilting that she is a big fan of, and the quilt was born from that design process. She entered it into QuiltCon in 2018 and it won First Place - Use of Negative Space.
