Featured Quilt - Creating Through Trial and Error
Irene Roderick's quilt, Spotlight, was exhibited at QuiltCon 2023 in the Piecing category and was created through trial and error while she worked through the creative process. What began as a study of frozen sego palms morphed into spotlight that arcs across the sky for a celebratory event. Irene has learned to "embrace the joy of creative intuition, spontaneous expression, and a
blind trust in process", have you?

The Quilt Show Puzzle: Discoveries On the Beach
"Agate Beach" by Colleen Wise
Agate Beach is a quilt that
sees Colleen branching out in different directions from her normal quilt-making ways. Named after a beach on Lopez Island in Washington, Colleen says every rock on that beach you see is gorgeous and you want to take home with you. It features some of Colleen's marbled fabrics, which she uses to represent some of the rocks, but it is mainly a whole-cloth quilt.
See more of Colleen's quilts in Learn How to Shadow on Blocks, Discharge Leaves, and Marble Fabric with Colleen Wise.
