Featured Quilt - Memories Preserved Through Quilting
My Mother, Margaret Heatwole by Julia Graber won 3rd Place - Wall Quilt at the 2021 Virtual Spring Quilt Festival. Julia says of her memorable quilt, "Snapshots capture moments in time, and when stitched together, reveal a life built upon the solid foundations of faith and family. Pictures were scanned and then a filter applied in a photo editing software program to create a united color pallet, then printed onto cotton fabric and fused in an appliqué collage manner."

The Quilt Show Puzzle: Learning The Value of Color
|
|
"Color and Grayscale" by Sarah Bond
Color and Grayscale was created for a class that Sarah developed focusing on solid colors and value. It was meant as a way to show off how different colors interact with one another, how they play opposite ones that might not necessarily be chosen to go together. When making the quilt, it was a self-education for Sarah herself to see how these colors play together.
See more of Sarah's quilts in Learn to Quilt in Monochrome and Technicolor with Sarah Bond.
