We continue our coverage of Quiltcon 2022's MQG Temperature Quilts exhibit by placing the spotlight on Hot Fun in the Summertime by Kathy Cook.

According to Kathy, making the quilt was an "exercise in letting go" and opening herself up to the creative process of making a temperature quilt. "Having no choice about color or placement of blocks was foreign to me. After forty days I started over with a new block palette-the one you see here. the new block creates a secondary pattern that gives the quilt more interest. I've never followed the weather as closely as I did in 2020!"

The Quilt Show Puzzle: What A Way To Celebrate!
"Jubilee" by Amanda Murphy

Jubilee is the 125th Anniversary quilt for BERNINA. Amanda designed the fabric for it, the quilting templates that go with it, and of course the quilt itself. The goal of the quilt was to represent BERNINA visually, hence the gold and white, but also to showcase the features of their machines, such as their machine quilting capabilities.
