Featured Quilt - It's All About the Temperature

What is a Temperature Quilt? Here's how Erika Mulvenna at WeAllSew.com describes it:

"You might be wondering, “What even is a temperature quilt?” This type of quilt uses colors to indicate temperatures through a determined time period. Temperature quilts have been trending in the past several years, and there was a beautiful exhibit at this year’s Quiltcon."

We will be featuring a number of these Quiltcon quilts in upcoming newsletters. To begin, take a look at Temperature Houses by Helene Juul.

Amanda Murphy returns to The Quilt Show to talk about her love of combining art and technology with her "quilting toys". She sees quilting as both playtime as well as an opportunity to give life to a quilt. 2022 is the 125th Jubilee year for BERNINA and Amanda was proud to be asked to create a special Jubilee quilt for the celebration. Watch the show and take a look at that quilt so many more of Amanda's amazing creations!

The Quilt Show Puzzle: It Came From The Pineapple "Nebula"
"Nebula" by Jane Hall

Jane's Nebula quilt features, what she calls, pineapple stars. This is when the four corners of a pineapple block come together and form, you guessed it, a star. The quilt was designed as a barn raising, with the dark stars in the middle surrounded by the next to dark and so on all the way out to the edge as they get lighter in color. Jane considers the quilt to be in the log cabin family, with her telling people that it is a "log cabin gone bezerk".
