Gratitude by Amy Poynter Helton won Second Place - Large Quilts: 1st Entry in an AQS Paducah Quilt Contest (Sponsored by Gammill®) at AQS Quiltweek 2022 in Paducah. Featuring stunning quilting over a blank white canvas, there is something to see wherever your eyes land.

In an article written about Amy and her quilt, we find out the top, while a whole cloth, isn't entirely one material. "Gratitude is a whole cloth quilt. When creating the quilt for the art show, Helton wanted a unique texture so she decided to make the top using 80 percent hemp and 20 percent silk."

"Garden Party Down Under" Month 7 Patterns Are Here!
A Vase, A Shoofly Block, and a Dresden Plate Walk into a Quilt...

In Month 7 of Garden Party Down Under you'll be creating an appliquéd vase block, Shoofly blocks, and a Dresden Plate block. There are THREE downloads for this month, so make sure you get them all, including:

  • Patterns for Blocks 10 and 11
  • Instructions for Block 10
  • Instructions for Block 11

The Dresden Plate pattern download can be found in Month 4. And don't forget to click the video tab and watch Barbara Black's helpful video for tips on how to make half-square triangles.

The Quilt Show Puzzle: Where Are We Going This Time?
"Road Trip" by Heather Black

Road Trip is a quilt inspired by Heather's memories of taking road trips with her family when she was younger, and the trips she takes with them now. Always enjoying the view from the car, and the scenery that they passed around the United States, Heather wanted the rounded corners of the quilt to mimic the car window and the sights and scenes that you see out of it while on a trip.
