Featured Quilt - A Gorgeous Pictorial
Quilt
A la deriva, which translates to adrift, by Esther Delgado Pico was featured as part of the Pictorial Quilts category at the Birmingham Festival of Quilts in 2022. This gorgeous quilt depicts a woman adrift atop the waters and is based on an original pictorial work by Erik Zener, giving his consent to produce the work. It features beautiful hand-dyed fabrics that replicate the deep blues of the ocean's depths and the shine of the sun upon the water.

Learn To Build Your Own Cities from Your Scrap Bin
Geri
Patterson-Kutras likes to create what she calls ‘scrappy cities’, a palette cleanser for the mind, that gives her a break between large projects. See how fused scraps become the story background, while strips and units are combined to make the buildings of the town. The play continues as Geri auditions cars, dogs, people and birds for the little story. We then look at examples of finished scrappy city stories.
Learn from Geri by watching her in Learn How to
Make Cityscapes, Creating with Parchment Paper, and Where to Find Inspiration with Geri Patterson-Kutras.
