Featured Quilt - A Symphony of Quilting

What does one do when they have a lot of time on their hands? For the past few years, many of us have had to ask that question due to being cooped up inside for so long. If you're like Mayumi Ishii, you take advantage of that time and create a beautifully symphonic quilt full of hand piecing, hand quilting, hand embroidery, and hand appliqué.

Concerto was featured at the 2022 Houston International Quilt Festival and shows off how time well spent creates something magnificent. She says, "Over the last two years, the pandemic has increased the amount of time spent at home. However, the time to quilt while listening to music was a fun and fulfilling time. Many roses were played."

It's New Show Day with Maria Shell Back on the Docket!

Come Out of Your Shell with Maria

Maria Shell is known for creating colorful and exacting quilts using repeating units. She is back on The Quilt Show with new ideas for working with scrap busting strip units in a method she calls intentional improv. See how unusual and dynamic designs result when strip units are cut into simple shapes or gentle and undulating curves. And, take in a visit with Karey Patterson Bresenhan and Nancy O’Bryant Puentes to learn how their efforts have influenced and kept quilting on everyone’s radar.

Watch Maria in Braided Curves, Lines and Triangles Equal Squares with Maria Shell | For the Love of Quilting with Nancy and Karey, which debuts today!
