Featured Quilt - A Stunning Portrait Quilt from Road to California 2024

Damilola by Uzoma Samuel Anyanwu was featured as part of Break My Soul: An Exhibit of 21st Century Black Quilt Artists at Road to California 2024. This stunning portrait quilt captivates you upon first glance and won't let go of its gaze. Here is some more information from the show about his beautiful work: "Damilola means created me with wealth, the making of a woman. Using repurposed fabrics and collage techniques the quilt top is created on canvas. The canvas top was then prepared, border added, and free-motion quilted and finished on a sit down Long Arm machine by Earamichia Brown, McKinney, TX. Artist sponsored by S]S Academy."

The Quilt Show Puzzle: What's The Buzz?

"Bzzzzzz" by Sheri Cifaldi-Morrill

Bzzzzzz was a quilt that Sheri first designed for the Quilt Alliance in 2015 as part of a challenge entitled Animals We Love. Since her husband is a backyard beekeeper, Sheri was inspired by this and other things in her life to create the quilt. It went on to win First Place in the Quilt Alliance challenge and received a lot of notoriety afterward. With its acclaim came people wanting to make it, but Sheri did not have a pattern for it nor had she designed one before. Having documented her process, a year later she released it as a pattern and it has become one of her top sellers.
