Featured Quilt - A Blue (and Yellow) Ribbon Winning Quilt

Congratulations to Marilyn Badger and her quilt Midnight in Morocco, which won First Place - Mixed Large at Road to California 2022. No stranger to award-winning quilts, Marilyn's quilt also won Best of Show at PIQF 2020.

Designed with Claudia Clark Myers, Marilyn says, "I always wanted to make a blue and yellow quilt and when Claudia sent a photo of this design she had come up with on EQ8 it was perfect. I also wanted to do some machine appliqué on my new Janome machine. There is also hand appliqué to accent the quilting designs and lots of added crochet circles and embellishments."

The Quilt Show Puzzle: Reflections Inspire Great Work
"Reflections of Cape Town" by Cynthia England

Cynthia writes about her quilt, which won Best of Show at Houston 2016, “I was fortunate to teach quilting in South Africa. While there, we took a side to and visited Cape Town. This picture was taken in a fishing village there. I loved the bright colors and the reflections were something I wanted to try to recreate in fabric. I am constantly amazed at the beautiful places where quilting takes me. This quilt took about a year to make and has approximately 8400 individual pattern pieces in it.”
