Featured Quilt - Third Place Pictorial Large at Houston 2022
Illinois Album 2 by Jane Sassaman won Third Place in the Pictorial Large category at the 2022 Houston International Quilt Festival. Jane is no stranger to awards at Houston 2022, as this is her second quilt to when an award there. The first, Radiance, took Second Place in the Abstract category. For Illinois Album 2, Jane says inspiration struck her by just taking a stroll outside. "I just have to walk out my front door for inspiration. This quilt depicts some favorite plants and critters in our
Midwestern garden."

"Kevin" by Carol Morrissey
Taking inspiration from a photo she took of a bullfrog in her certified wildlife habitat, i.e. her backyard, Carol Morrissey's Kevin is a painted wholecloth quilt that also includes some ink. It is a recent work of Carol's that breaks from her Exaggerated Pointillism series, showing her interest has not faded from different types of quilt making.
