Featured Quilt - In A Wintery Forest
Twinkling Stars in the Sleeping Forest by Yaeko Ichiwata was featured in the Hand Quilted / Hand Made category (Sponsored by Flynn Quilt Frame Company) at the 2023 Houston International Quilt Festival. A perfect quilt for the snowy white Winter season, Yaeko made it with the hope that the viewer actually thinks snow is falling down upon it when they see it.
She says, "I created this quilt with the image of twinkling stars gathering in a sleeping forest where snow is quietly falling. The snow is expressed with gingham stitches and candlewicking. When light shines on the back, snow shadows float colorfully."

Learn About Pat's Journey
Pat Bishop has always loved art and the process of making things. A traditional quilter when her children were young, she transitioned to art quilting and fabric manipulation as it gave her the opportunity to create works with a watercolor like appearance. See her quilts evolve as we view the more realistic ones in Show and Tell and the abstract ones in the demos.

Choose How You Want To Decorate Your Bag
From Sharon Madsen at WeAllSew: "While many like to ring in the New Year sparkling with satin and sequins, I enjoy wearing jeans and adding some glitz and glamor with accessories. No matter what you wear while celebrating the New Year, this easy-to-sew clutch bag is ready for any event. Sew it in denim with an eye-catching circular design created with metallic thread for extra sparkle, or sew a velvet one with a circular design and fringe created using decorative trims."
