"Present"ing Holiday Quilts, Music, Poetry, Puzzles, and a FREE Show

Happy Holidays! - December 24, 2021
Featured Quilt(s) - That's right, we are "present' ing" multiple quilts for you this holiday weekend. Enjoy!

Merry Christmas by Aki Sakai

Another of Aki's stunning miniature quilts, you'll have to explore every block and linger over every detail. If you are taking Alex's embroidery class, you'll want to see if you can find any new stitches to incorporate into your project.

Jingle Bells by Antonia Herring

Featuring holiday motifs, including Father Christmas, reindeer, and snow-covered trees, enjoy the hand-quilted and hand-appliquéd beauty of Jingle Bells, an enchanting award-winner from Antonia Herring of the Netherlands.

The Loading Dock by Mary Buvia

Mary dedicated this stunning hand-appliquéd quilt to her husband. We love that one of the techniques used is "iridescent film snowflakes".

Jingle Bells by Kathy McNeil

Jingle Bells took Kathy about 800 hours to make. It has won
four international Viewer’s Choice awards and is one of Kathy's personal favorites, too. We have to admit, it's one of our favorites as well.

FREE Show with Susie Monday
Become the Curator and Editor of Your Own Fabric Line

In this show, Susie shows Ricky how to create fabric designs using presets from a number of different free Apps available on your iPad or tablet. Combining two, three, or four apps to build layers offers even more unusual effects. Susie says that during this playtime you are now the curator and editor of the fabric you design.

Also in this show, Ricky shares a fast and fun exercise for marking out a quilting design on a curved grid. Transferring that design to the longarm, he stitches a variety of easy repeated designs that work within the gridded curve.

The show will be available for FREE through Sunday, December 26, 2021.

A Christmas Collaboration

A Summer Christmas
by Mariya Waters and Gina Perkes-Tidwell won Best of Show at PIQF 30 in 2021.

Mariya wrote, ""This quilt has been an international collaboration. In Australia, Christmas time is in summer, and I wanted a quilt that was not stars and snowflakes, but celebrated our garden in full bloom. The flower is the Tudor rose, as I spent many years in the United Kingdom. I began the applique' in 2006 and finished in 2016. Gina began the quilting in 2016 and finished in 2019. Both of us had family issues along the way that extended the completion."
