Featured Quilt - Third Place Appliqué at Houston 2023

A Sentimental Journey by Linda Goodejohn won Third Place - Appliqué, sponsored by The Quilt Show itself, at the 2023 Houston International Quilt Festival. Linda's quilt is based on another quilt created by someone near and dear to TQS' heart, Sue Garman. Linda says, "This quilt was inspired by my love for Baltimore Album quilts. It was started while living in Arizona and finished after we moved back to Washington to be near friends and family. The pattern, Friends of Baltimore, was designed by Sue Garman. I changed the setting and added an appliquéd dogtooth border."

We have Sue's quilt, Friends of Baltimore, in our Featured Quilt Gallery and you can view it below to appreciate and admire it in companion to Linda's quilt.

Plus, you can learn from Sue right here at The Quilt Show when she visited us to teach in How to Hand Applique with Sue Garman | Longarm Quilting with Merrily Parker.
