Turning The Basics On Its Head
Last week Ricky spoke with Victoria Findlay Wolfe about her new exhibit at the International Quilt Museum entitled Option Expedition. In the exhibit, Victoria "takes basic shapes of patchwork — square, circle, triangle, parallelogram — and breaks down design principles of space, balance, scale, line, shape, color, emphasis, contrast, value, repetition, movement, texture, and unity to look at the bold, beautiful choices available." Click through to learn even more about this amazing new installation and plan a trip for yourself to visit.
Option Expedition by Victoria Findlay Wolfe is on display at the International Quilt Museum in Lincoln, NE from now through December 14, 2024. |

"The Bento Block of the Day" by SusanClaire Mayfield
SusanClaire says of The Bento Block of the Day, "A new block of the day for 2020! A small appliqué for each day of the year set on to a variety of size background fabrics. These little appliqué pictures are inspired by Japan and Japanese Kokeshi Dolls. Kokeshi dolls are a traditionally made wooden doll, often quite decorative. As well as the dolls there are many other Japanese inspired things, such as cherry blossom, bamboo......and so much more!"
