Featured Quilt - Baskets, Baskets, and More Baskets

Don't Put All Your Eggs in One by Marilyn Smith was featured at Houston 2021. Marilyn says, "This quilt was inspired by some melon baskets I made in the 80's. While looking at the baskets, I realized that the God's eye could be a Log Cabin block and the basket part could be made using a wedge ruler. The baskets are embellished with beads, embroidery thread, and buttons. This quilt took a very long time to complete and because it was an original pattern, I ran into many problems while making it. I'm glad it is done." We're glad you finished the quilt too Marilyn, because now everybody gets to enjoy it!

Claudia Pfeil's Quilt Blocks for Ukraine - Update
Your Generous Gifts are Making a Difference

Claudia Pfeil has just updated her mailing instructions on Facebook regarding quilters sending in quilt blocks for Ukraine. Your generous gifts and donations are greatly appreciated, but apparently Claudia got in trouble with the post office for telling people to list their quilt blocks as “humanitarian aid”. She can’t do that because she isn’t an organization. So she has requested that people list their blocks as “gifts” and that should solve her problem. Find out more about how you can help by clicking below.

"Blue Ice" by Jacquie Gering

Blue Ice by Jacquie Gering was created in a similar manner to improvised Log Cabin blocks with crazy pieced centers in a straight set. Blue Ice can be found in Jacquie's book (along with Katie Pedersen) Quilting Modern (Interweave, 2012).
