My friend sent me a pack of purple sewing edge strips which you lay tacky side down onto the bed of your machine just before the stitch plate where you want the exact edge of the fabric to line up to stitch an exact quarter inch seam. It is so much better than just the engraved line on the plate as it is longer and helps you to line up the fabric accurately. It is made by C&T Publishing in US. It is really good and has made the seaming so much more accurate for me.
