Featured Quilt - Quilted, Not Stirred
Tang martini by AnnMarie Cowley was featured in the Minimalist Design category at QuiltCon 2023. AnnMarie says of her quilt, "Using free clip art from ClipArtMag and the Michael Miller backing fabric for color inspiration, I created the feel of a mid-century diner. I made giant paper templates for the bulk of the design. It is quilted with my seer-sucker quilting."

The Quilt Show Puzzle: The Freedom To Decide
"Freedom" by David Owen Hastings
Wanting to break away from his "square way" of
quilting, i.e. lots of rectangles, David forced himself to work with curves and round shapes for Freedom as a way to break free from himself during the pandemic. It was designed using a rough thumbnail sketch, a trick he brought to his quilting from his graphic design training, and from there David was given the "freedom", hence the title, to play with his work and let it evolve.
See more of David's quilts in Paper Study with a Maquette and Abstract Quilt Designs with David Owen Hastings | Quilt Designs with Connie Fanders.

So get your shopping list set, and get ready to embark on a fun journey of quilting ahead (while being totally prepared upfront)!
