A Deconstructed Flamingo In Block Form, On the Set with Susan K. Cleveland and Wendy Richardson, Special Announcement: Houston Quilt Festival 2025 Winners Will Be Announced This Monday, Dee LIVE: ITSA Block, In The Store - Halloween Mini Boo Bites Bundles, A Puzzle That Roars to Life

Featured Quilt - A Deconstructed Flamingo In Block Form

Sometimes the best ideas come from the silliest of places, like Sarah Ann Smith's quilt that was inspired by the "flamingo" that lives in her yard in the summer. Using a traditional Crossed Canoes Block as her design source, Sarah created Phlamingo, Some Assembly Required, which was featured at Houston International Quilt Festival 2022.

As for the whole story about the "flamingo", we'll let Sarah tell you that. "Phineas the Phlamingo lives in our garden in summer. When I asked on Instagram for possible quilt titles, the two best were "Flamingo, Some Assembly Required", and "Shattered Ceilings". Phineas chose the first, but only if I spelled his species his way. He and I both love the bold lines and fresh twists on tradition in modern quilting, as well as the open spaces for quilting. During winter, Phineas and his friend, Sven the Gnome, live indoors with us."

The Quilt Show Puzzle: An English Paper Pieced Lion

"The EPP Lion" by Tina Craig

The EPP Lion is one of two lion quilts that Tina presented on The Quilt Show, each made using a different paper piecing method. As its name would suggest, this lion quilt was made using English Paper Piecing, and was designed by Violet Craft. Tina uses this and her other lion quilt as the poster boys for her lecture called EPP vs. FPP: The Showdown. During the lecture, after the introduction of the two techniques, the audience pits one quilt from each technique against each other and votes on their favorite, and at the end a winner is declared.

Unlike many other platformers, Geometry Dash Lite resumes after one wrong move. As players improve their timing and patience, this gradient of difficulty provides them a fulfilling sensation of progress.
