Featured Quilt - Alex Anderson's Judge's Choice Award at Houston 2025
The 2025 Houston International Quilt Festival was the first Houston show that Alex Anderson took part in as a judge. As such, she had the honor of choosing a quilt as the recipient of her Judge's Choice award. She chose Lyudmila Bronshtein's quilt, Flowering Bush, for the distinction. Lyudmila's quilt features vibrant and beautiful colors that evoke the Springtime inspirations she wished to bring to life. She says, "My inspiration for this work was the magnificent spring bloom of jacaranda and bougainvillea bushes. I admired the flowers, then came home and cut and sewed strips of fabric in matching colors. I collected them together so that they showed us all the beauty and joy of
life."

What Was the Inspiration for the 2026 Block Of the Month?
All Will Be Revealed Tomorrow
The Quilt Show has been presenting a Block of the Month Quilt since 2007, AND they have won over 1000 ribbons for the makers in local and national shows. The BOM is always by a famous quilter and designer and includes a multitude of techniques to learn and practice, AND it also has videos by the creator and help from Barbara Black. You can also share your progress and ask questions in our forum. That's why we call it "The Quilt Show Block of the Month Experience".
All of this is included FREE with your Membership to TheQuiltShow.com. The membership is less than the price of the pattern and includes instant access to all of the episodes of The Quilt Show. To give you an idea about the BOM, take a look at Hint #2 about The Quilt Show's 2026 Block Of the Month, which is all about the inspiration for the quilt.
Alex is LIVE with the answers to your BOM questions TOMORROW, Monday November 3, 2025 at 10am PT 1pm ET.

The "Eyes" Have It
They say that the eyes are the window to the soul, but they didn't say anything about how those eyes were constructed. Artists use their skills and creativity to depict their subjects the way they see them. Whether that's using literal images of eyes like Jamie Kalvestran, or abstract block ones, they represent that artist's voice. We hope that The Quilt Show has allowed you to express your creative voice using the knowledge you've learned from watching our shows. And we'll continue teaching you new and exciting lessons right here at The Quilt Show to hone and shape that voice for your future artistic endeavors.
