Featured Quilt - Second Place Large Quilts: Movable Machine Quilted at AQS QuiltWeek Paducah 2025

Afternoon at C.L. Dodgson's by Beckey Prior won Second Place - Large Quilts: Movable Machine Quilted (Sponsored by INNOVA) at AQS QuiltWeek – Paducah 2025. Quilted by Jackie Brown, Beckey's quilt takes its inspiration from a beloved series of novels whose author's name is in the title of her quilt, but you may be more familiar with his pen name. She says, "My quilt is inspired by the Alice books by Charles L. Dodgson, a.k.a. Lewis Carroll. Each character began as a random photograph from the author's time. The 1863 image of Carroll, by photographer Oscar Rejlander, inspired my Cheshire Cat. Jackie Brown's sumptuous free-motion and original digital quilting creates depth and detail for this odd tea party."

The Quilt Show Puzzle: An Enchanting Quilt

"Enchanted" by Karla Alexander

Enchanted was created using the little edges left over from the fabrics in Karla's stash. Instead of tossing these leftover pieces from other quilts, she chose to save them and turn them into the fabric used for Enchanted. To do this, she collected groups of similar colors, and stood back and used the ten-foot rule to figure out which ones went best with each other.
