Featured Quilt - First Place Appliqué at QuiltCon 2025

Fugue by Lucy Engels won First Place - Appliqué (Sponsored by Twin Essential Quilt Shop) at QuiltCon 2025. Lucy says, "Fugue is part of a series of quilts examining shifts in perception. Fugue's composition process is one of manipulating the quilt that came before, revealing a new image distanced from the original, changed. 576 circles needle turn appliquéd on a pieced background. A deliberately slow process allowing time to pass. Giving space for a greater sense of self in time, to recognize priorities shifting with the experience of life events and acceptance change is inevitable."
