Featured Quilt - First Place Large Quilts Stationary Machine Quilted at AQS QuiltWeek Branson 2025

Remembering Me by Simone Steuxner won First Place in the Large Quilts - Stationary Machine Quilted category at AQS QuiltWeek - Branson 2025. About the quilt, "Simone's original design was inspired by a deep internal life crisis. Remembering the fun times, she realized that although life can change in an instant, there is always a chance to find yourself again. There are 254 leaves appliquéd on the outer border. Simone says, "The quilt helped me focus on the moment, and grounded me. Working on this quilt brought back a positive outlook, joy, and love.""

The Quilt Show Puzzle: Dive Right In

"Under The Sea" by Jaimie Davis

This is the third iteration of Jaimie's Under The Sea quilt. The first iteration she had almost all done, except for the fish, when she decided it wasn't working for her. So except for a small portion on the right, she threw the entire thing away. Starting the quilt over, she felt like a huge weight had been lifted off her shoulders because now she knew what to do. Coming from science, and looking at her quilts as experiments, Jaimie knew going in that her quilt did not need to be perfect initially. Knowing what she did wrong the first time, she looks at this quilt, and all her quilts now, as not what she made or did, but what she learned.

See more of Jaimie's quilts in Creative Ruching, Painting with Inktense Pencils, and Digital Drawing with Jaimie Davis.
