Featured Quilt - Outstanding Machine Pieced Quilt at Quilt National '25
Dialectic No. 1 by Heather Akerberg won Outstanding Machine Pieced Quilt (Sponsored By Crow Timber Frame Barn, LLC) at Quilt National '25. Also known as Joyous/Mourning, this quilt is part of Heather's Dialectic series, which she describes as exploring, "dialectical thinking, a method of reasoning that encourages people to consider that it’s possible for two contradictory ideas to both be true. Life is complex, and this series offers an opportunity to contemplate that complexity instead of yielding to the urge to oversimplify or take sides. Color interaction, transparency and value reinforce the theme of existing on a spectrum. The light and dark co-exist — separate and collide — creating tension or serenity."
Dialectic No. 1 was recently purchased by the International Quilt Museum at Quilt National 2025. Congratulations Heather! |

Make a Christmas Quilt That You Can Use All Year!
This red, green, taupe, and cream collection looks perfectly festive, but really has only ONE true holiday print in it. If you set aside that one holiday fabric, you can make a quilt that looks Christmassy at Christmas, but works just fine the rest of the year too! |

The Quilt Show Puzzle: A Sketch for Every Season |

"Sketching the Seasons" by Nancy Prince
Sketching the Seasons is an embroidery quilt made by Nancy. She made it because she was told by a lot of people that they loved her work, but it was just a little bit too time-consuming for them to want to make. In response she made Sketching the Seasons, an embroidery CD that people can put into their automated embroidery machines to create that landscape look that Nancy is known for, but not have to do the part that takes up so much time as the machine will do it for them.
See more of Nancy's quilts in How to Do Thread Painting with Nancy Prince.
