Featured Quilt - Third Place Large Quilts: Stationary Machine Quilted at AQS QuiltWeek Paducah 2025
Main Event by Ben Darby won Third Place - Large Quilts: Stationary Machine Quilted (Sponsored by Husqvarna Viking) at AQS QuiltWeek - Paducah 2025. Using a traditional Lone Star design as his inspiration, Ben wanted to take that tried and true design and add some a dash a creative wonder to it. He says, "I wanted to play with stripes in a Lone Star setting. I dressed it up with raw-edge appliqué inspired by Tula Pink fabrics and a touch of Disney." Can you spot the Tula Pink fabric used throughout Ben's quilt? |

|
Take a Tour of The Costume Institute's Latest Exhibition
From The Met: "Join Monica L. Miller, Guest Curator and Professor and Chair of African Studies, Barnard College, Columbia University, on a tour of the exhibition Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, with an introduction from Andrew Bolton, Curator in Charge of The Costume Institute. The Costume Institute’s spring 2025 exhibition presents a cultural and historical examination of Black style over three hundred years through the concept of dandyism. Through a presentation of garments and accessories, paintings, photographs, decorative arts, and more, from the 18th century to today, Superfine interprets this sartorial practice as both an aesthetic and a strategy that allowed for new social and political possibilities."
Superfine: Tailoring Black Style will be on display at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, NY from now through October 26, 2025. |

Anything Can Be Your Inspiration
This view of the lake outside of the house where we taped in Branson, Missouri provided the stunning backdrop to our show-and-tell segments in our recent series of shows. We think it would be great inspiration for a beautiful landscape quilt. Sometimes though, we can find inspiration in the strangest of places. One of our guests created a quilt based off a ceiling tile in her church roof, while others have created amazing work using household items in unconventional ways. These stories and more are why we love people coming to The Quilt Show, so that they can share their inspiration with others so that they may be inspired themselves! |
